FOLIE DOUCE

Built in 2012, the architects HARMAND & RAYMOND were able to give a soul to this contemporary building which has nothing to envy of its counterparts from the beginning of the last century. Built on concrete stilts so that the first level benefits from the view of the ocean, the house stands out with its mix of architecture. Inside, the bold set of materials, colors and materials gives it a unique atmosphere.
From the entrance, the spaces are synonymous with comfort and elegance. The play of polychromy of the wooden cladding of the floors subtly combines with the curved lines of the Art Nouveau-inspired openings. The kitchen, central and airy, separates the living room space warmed by the oak wall panels and the insert fireplace, which provide a beautiful cozy space. The dining room is entirely facing the sea. Then like an alcove sheltered from view, a small living room space discreetly takes its place, lit by an opening allowing you to see the kitchen without taking your eyes off the sea.
The upstairs, with its two beautiful bedrooms, each with their own shower room or bathroom, reveals even more of the ocean. The wooden terrace accessible from the master bedroom embraces the bay. Finally, on the second and last level, a new sleeping area or office dominates the whole.
The exterior staircase leads to a veranda characteristic of the islands, a real additional living room, while a hidden staircase from the living room leads to the spacious basement with laundry room. The overflowing farm and its ridge finish to enhance the facade.
