FOLIE DOUBLE

Built on concrete stilts so that the first level benefits from the view of the ocean, these two houses stand out for their mix of architectures. Inside, the bold set of materials, colors and textures gives them a unique atmosphere. In the main house, from the entrance, the spaces are synonymous with comfort and elegance. The polychrome play of the wooden cladding of the floors subtly combines with the curved lines of the Art Nouveau-inspired openings. The kitchen, central and airy, separates the living room space warmed by the oak wall panels and the insert fireplace, which provide a beautiful cozy space. The dining room is entirely turned towards the sea. Then like an alcove hidden from view, a small living room area discreetly takes its place, lit by an opening allowing a view of the kitchen without taking your eyes off the sea. The upper floor, with its two beautiful bedrooms each offering their own shower room or bathroom, reveals even more of the ocean. The wooden terrace accessible from the master bedroom embraces the bay. Finally, on the second and last level, a new sleeping area or office dominates the whole. The exterior staircase leads to a veranda characteristic of the islands, a real additional living space, while a staircase hidden from the living room leads to the spacious basement with laundry room. The overflowing farm and its ridge finial complete the sublimation of the facade. The second house, which can be independent or presented as an annex, develops a beautiful bright living space, open onto the veranda, and upstairs a large bedroom with its balcony across the width of this house. The whole can easily be merged or conversely offer two separate living spaces with the common thread being this breathtaking view of the bay of North Beach.
