RELAX FACTORY

Upholsterer in furniture

Jean-Baptiste Moutte is the founder of the Relax Factory furniture restoration and upholstery workshop in Marseille. Fond of design from the 40’s-50’s-60’s, he puts his culture and his requirement as well as the talent and the technicality of his team to the rebirth of antique, modern and contemporary furniture.

With the taste and pleasure of a job well done, which he has defended since his beginnings, Jean-Baptiste restores and enhances furniture in a clever mix of textures, colors and materials, down to the smallest detail, with a focus on quality and durability.
The dialogue of materials is expressed with delicacy and reveals the lines of design restored to their original beauty.

Surrounded by a team of meticulous and perfectionist workers, he has been giving a second life to furniture since 2007 in the Relax Factory. “I practice my profession with respect for what these pieces of furniture deserve. My work reaches a public that is aware of the merits of restoring quality furniture, made to last and which flies over the trends.” While respecting the existing, he values materials such as fabrics from publishers-Kvadrat, Frey, Nobilis, Metaphores or Rubelli … leathers and skins from French or Italian tanneries. He orchestrates his projects with his team of enthusiasts: Head of the workshop, upholsterers, upholsterers and seamstresses make and restore pieces by great designers such as Le Corbusier, Jeanneret, Gio Ponti, Adnet, Perriand, Mies van der Rohe, Paulin… Antique dealers, collectors, amateurs and institutions call on their know-how and precision to take care of their furniture, or for an accompaniment to their project, such as the Hôtel de Caumont Museum and Château La Coste in Aix-en-Provence, the Palais de Tokyo in Paris or the Magen H. Gallery in New-York, Eric Touchaleaume’s Gallery 54 in Paris, L’Atelier 55 in St Tropez, Megève and St-Bart.

The custom-made manufacture occupies an important place, he collaborates with interior architects, designers and furniture editors in the study, the realization, the conception and the production of furniture. In his boutique-showroom, he exhibits a selection of creations, art as well as furniture, from masterpieces to the highlighting of young designers.

Partner of ARCHIK since the beginning, his work punctuates our ARCHIK houses in Marseille and Paris. You can call upon her fairy fingers for custom-made creations or to entrust her with your design pieces.
