La Joliette
Located in the heart of the Euroméditerranée project, the Joliette district is the symbol of the new Marseille.
Its name comes from Julius Caesar who had established his camp there during his rivalry with Pompey.
In the midst of urban restructuring, the district boldly mixes old buildings with contemporary ones.
Between the waterfront, the Old Port and the Panier, it is strategically positioned between the highway leading to the airport and the TGV station. It is home to the new business district, whose symbol is the CMA-CGM tower by architect Zaha Hadid.
The new shopping malls, Les Terrasses du Port, Les DOCKS and Les Voûtes de la Major, meet the cultural axis represented by the MuCEM, the Villa Méditerranée and the Fondation Regards de Provence.
A district in full mutation that lives to the rhythm of the boats that leave or disembark.
