TAPISIEGE I TAPICHERI

May – September 2026

An exhibition that explores the relationship between rugs and seating, and reimagines a way of living that is free, sensitive, and essential.

For its carte blanche at ARCHIK, Tapicheri has curated a series of five pairs linked by a shared sense of color or form.

A rug, a chair.
Two elements that are enough to transform the space.
The rug defines a chosen floor space, a surface that both isolates and connects. The chair engages the body, inviting it to pause its movement and take a seat.

Each pair functions as an autonomous unit, a piece that is both flexible and practical.
In its most basic form, this is where living begins.

These sets sketch out an interior without walls, offering a way to make a space one’s own based not on accumulation, but on balance: the balance of forms, materials, and distances.
Nomadic by nature, these minimalist living rooms can be moved and rearranged.

Living then becomes an act of intention: the act of marking a threshold, laying a foundation, and creating a world out of almost nothing.

The exhibition showcases TAPICHERI’s creations, designed by Camille de Villartay: hand-tufted rugs with free-form shapes and vibrant colors, conceived as true works of art.

Alongside these pieces, a selection of seating designs interacts with the rugs to form harmonious pairs, where materials and colors complement one another.

The exhibition brings together a selection of pieces by talented designers such as Axel Chay, Laetitia Perrin, and MVE, as well as from the design houses Theoreme and Petite Friture, creating an interior landscape in which the rug is no longer merely a backdrop, but a starting point.

The Artist

Tapicheri is a French company specializing in the creation of contemporary rugs.

Founded in Paris in 2022, the brand is known for its hand-tufted pieces, featuring free-form shapes and vibrant colors, designed as true decorative elements. Offering both ready-to-lay and custom-made collections, Tapicheri showcases European artisanal craftsmanship and embraces a joyful, creative approach, where the rug becomes an object of artistic expression that can be personalized.

Camille de Villartay, the founder of Tapicheri, is a designer and interior architect who trained at the École Boulle. After more than fifteen years of experience in interior architecture and design for major brands, she embarked on her entrepreneurial journey following a personal quest: unable to find rugs that met her expectations, she began designing her own models and quickly decided to launch her own brand.

Breaking with traditional conventions, Tapicheri embraces a playful and uninhibited approach to rugs, inviting everyone to make them their own.

When living becomes an intention: the intention to mark a threshold, to lay a foundation, and to create, with almost nothing, an entire world.
