Atelier George and ARCHIK present TANGO, a nomadic tableware set consisting of a carafe and two tumbler glasses that sway and dance, without ever toppling over. Made from blown glass by Eve and Laurent in their Burgundy workshop.

THE DESIGNERS

Atelier George

Atelier George is a duo made up of Eve George and Laurent Fichot. Both designers and glassblowers, they work four-handed, from design to manufacture, in their studio in Burgundy, outside the canons of glassmaking tradition.

From workshops to factories, from apprenticeships to experiments, molten glass has guided the lives of Eve George and Laurent Fichot. Fascinated by this material with its multiple possibilities, they develop collections of unique pieces guided by the search for material effects and new decors.

About the TANGO tableware set designed with ARCHIK:

“It’s a work of personal creation that’s very much like us. For us, Archik evoked notions of family, habitat and conviviality, which we tried to translate into a family of interdependent objects: the three pieces fit together like Russian dolls to create a totem, a sculptural object.
The surface decoration is fluted, similar to the objects in the Moire collection. The glasses are culbuto glasses, so they’re not perfectly stable, but they don’t tip over, hence the name of the collection, “Tango”, which evokes movement, dance and a certain playfulness.”
