Bourgeois architecture from the 19th century, this 20 m2 apartment (16 m2 Carrez law) perched on the 8th floor without elevator of a typical building in the Duroc district, nestled under the roof and designed as a wooded capsule, feels like a cabin in the city.

The result of a radical reinterpretation by interior designer Camille Grenu, founder of the Projet Wabi-sabi studio, the original envelope stone walls, narrow volumes, receding angles has given way to a micro-architecture sculpted in light wood, designed as a refuge space. Every square centimeter is optimized, each function integrated with finesse: a self-enclosed sleeping area, an alcove for reading or dreaming, a discreet kitchen with a retractable shelf, a bathroom separated by a glass wall letting in natural light. A play of transparency, depth and materials creates a feeling of calm and intimacy. The custom-made joinery structures the place like a contemporary cabin. The whole thing exudes a unique warmth, reinforced by the choice of omnipresent plywood and a soft textile palette.

A high-perched cabin in Duroc, designed as a unique piece.
