Redesigned in 2023 by architect Stéphanie Bertina-Minel, the house now boasts clean lines, warm materials, and a bold graphic signature. From the moment you enter, the verticality of the space is revealed through a sculptural staircase adorned with a suspended net that interacts with the natural light. On the first floor, a master bedroom with floor-to-ceiling storage benefits from the eastern light from the morning onwards. An adjoining children's bedroom also offers ample space. The two rooms share a bathroom with a 1970s feel and pops of yellow, incorporating a laundry area. On the second level, the main living area is laid out as an open plan, where the solid wood flooring unifies the space and creates a soft, enveloping atmosphere. The true heart of the house, the central volume is structured around a strong architectural element: a core clad in a deep blue, incorporating a functional fireplace, niches, and storage. The living room, opening onto a large horizontal window, benefits from consistent natural light. The lounge naturally revolves around the fireplace, while a custom-built bookcase extends to the mezzanine, which offers additional space, ideal for an office or playroom, illuminated by a skylight. The stainless steel kitchen and dining area are located beneath the mezzanine, punctuated by glass partitions that maintain visual and luminous continuity between the levels. The openwork bookcase at the edge of the mezzanine acts as a screen, allowing light to filter through while structuring the space.
