VILLA LOUIS

Built in 2018 by architect Nicolas Massie, the red brick house typical of the Bassin looks like a hut on stilts and is organized on two levels with an inverted floor plan to take advantage of the views and bring light into the upstairs living space. Separated by a wood-panelled insert on a concrete base, the space comprises a cosy living room with pine ceiling on one side, the dining room and fully-equipped kitchen with stainless steel worktop on the other. The ubiquitous waxed concrete floor connects the spaces, which open out through a large bay window onto the wooden terrace, covered by a beautiful traditional roof structure that extends the rooms and offers a relaxing corner and dining area to take full advantage of the western light. From the terrace, a wooden staircase leads to the sunken garden with its petanque court. On the night side, the house has five bedrooms, including a master on the first floor and four on the garden level, all with bay windows opening onto the garden and enjoying the fresh air. Two have their own shower room and two share a bathroom.
