Une exposition sans « Seinsure » avec comme seul mot d’ordre
FREE THE NIPPLES !
Ah, the breast… it fascinates us all! Censored or flaunted, it’s a symbol of femininity, an emblem of maternity, an object of desire and a symbol of emancipation. For centuries, the breast has attracted the attention of artists, so it’s only natural that designers should take their turn.
ARCHIK therefore invited Ekhi Busquet & Matthieu Vergote, Axel Chay, Manon Delaune and Tapicheri to bring their naughty creations together in a fun, no-holds-barred group show in a Californian-style villa under the pines.
Humor may be the most obvious key to this day, but it’s by no means the only one! Through their productions and their respective commitments, these five creative minds are striving for a meaningful Beau by donating part of the profits to various associations in the fight against breast cancer. More than ever, creativity is a barrier to all forms of “Seinsure”, so there’s only one watchword: FREE THE NIPPLES!
Les artistes
EKHI BUSQUET & MATTHIEU VERGOTE
Celebrating joyful, creative femininity, artistic director and designer Ekhi Busquet joins forces with Matthieu Vergote to present their “Seins-Tropez” pairs of parasols in a 4-handed collaboration! A great way to put your boobies in the shade this summer.
AXEL CHAY
A designer with a radical aesthetic, he offers 2 interpretations of the breast in evocative shapes. A pair of SEIN mirrors, captivating pieces that emotionally enrich the space, and a pair of CONSUL chairs whose “Prière de toucher” wafer was imagined with Relax Factory, in homage to Marcel Duchamp’s work for the surrealism exhibition at the Maeght gallery in 1947.
MANON DELAUNE
A multi-disciplinary artist, Manon loves the warm, vibrant colors of Marseille. She presents her photographs “Clarté Intime” & “Écho hésitant”, with their play of shadows, texture and skin. Also featured is “Vestige d’un élan”, or the capture of an impulse, a fleeting moment.
TAPICHERI
A French brand founded by interior designer Camille de Villartay, Tapicheri presents a fun, offbeat rug, imagined with the complicity of Décodeur: BOOB, a bold, playful creation in soft pastel colors.
La Case Study House
Remarkable architecture from the 1960s, located at the gateway to the Calanques, this 180 m2 Californian villa is at the heart of a modernist project designated as Patrimoine du XXème, designed by Guillaume Gillet & Louis Olmeta and completed in 1974. Still in its original state, the house retains all its original architectural features, such as its Fontvieille stone and hollow brick facade, sliding wooden shutters and opus incertum terrace. Inside, the fireplace, reminiscent of Valentine Schlegel’s, and the large terrazzo floor are waiting to be restored to their former glory.
For the sale of this house, Archik imagined a renovation that would respect this heritage, highlighting the volumes and light circulation of this period architecture.
An original exhibition,
fun and uninhibited!
