To mark ARCHIK's 10th anniversary, the agency brought together 10 artists and designers and invited them to revisit the same object the bookend through exclusive editions. A variation on a single theme, bringing together different skills and materials to reveal the stylistic richness of a library classic. A collection presented at the EX LIBRIS exhibition.
DESIGNER
Charlotte Juillard
Charlotte Juillard studied at the Camondo School and then at the design department of Fabrica (Treviso, Italy), where she developed numerous projects. In 2017, she presented her Lavastone collection at the Maison ARCHIK in Marseille, designed using lava stone from quarries in the Naples region. The following year, she was among the eight finalists for the Young Designer of the Year award, presented by Wallpaper magazine, and in 2018 she created an exclusive edition with ARCHIK: the Kihcra mirror tray, made of powder-coated metal. In 2019 and 2021, she received the prestigious FD 100 award.
With her decidedly sculptural Posture bookend, she enriches the Ex Libris collection with an unusual material that is emblematic of her practice: lava stone. Sculpted by the Italian manufacturer Ranieri, the piece offers a harmony of postures, proportions, and lines with a geometric abstraction inherited from the Bauhaus movement.
