To mark ARCHIK's 10th anniversary, the agency brought together 10 artists and designers and invited them to revisit the same object the bookend through exclusive editions. A variation on a single theme, bringing together different skills and materials to reveal the stylistic richness of a library classic. A collection presented at the EX LIBRIS exhibition.

DESIGNER

Thibault Huguet

After training as an industrial designer and obtaining a master’s degree from the Saint-Étienne Higher School of Art and Design in 2014, Thibault Huguet worked in major design agencies before setting up his own studio in 2020, now based in the Zaventem workshops in Belgium. In 2024 and 2025, he was asked to curate the “Factory” spaces at Paris Design Week with his collective Meet Met Met. In February 2024, his LAMP#1 was added to the Mobilier National collections. Alongside his other activities, he teaches design at the École Boulle.

In 2026, Maison ARCHIK Marseille will exhibit his research on the work of Fernand Pouillon, in particular his work with stone, in resonance with his book Les Pierres Sauvages.

For the “Ex Libris” collection, he has created a new kind of piece, somewhere between a book holder and a bookmark, between sculpture and furniture, designed using the “open book” cabinetmaking technique, which consists of creating a symmetrical decorative pattern from the grain of the wood, a plank or a burl, sawn in half. The name, which can be interpreted in two ways, becomes a play on words, evoking both the use and the design of the object. Crafted from solid split pine and covered with hammered aluminum foil, a technique developed in his workshop, this sculptural object is a continuation of his “Cambium” series, which reveals an unusual working method.
