Architecture from the 1950s, this two-storey house was completely redesigned in 1994, to be enlarged in 2005. It has a living area of 171 m2 located on a plot of 500 m2 with swimming pool and terrace, in the nearby Lafond district. from the city center of La Rochelle and its shops.

From its small partitioned and poorly lit rooms, the idea was to completely review this property to provide light through the enlarged or recreated openings, so that the sunshine passes through its rooms from morning to evening. Its L-shaped configuration for the ground floor gives it beautiful spaces to get around. The large open kitchen, custom-made, with its Corian worktop, gives it a gentle elegance and to better accommodate its guests in front of it is the dining area.
Its large living room benefits from a triple exposure playing with shadows and light. In the middle, a wood stove brings its modern touch and warm colors in winter. The black stained oak floor brings warmth and authenticity. From the outside, its wood and zinc cladding gives it a modern character. The upper floor is served by an iron and wood staircase without risers for greater lightness. It houses on one side the master suite with its bathroom lit by a bull's eye and on the other, three bedrooms with cupboards, their parquet floors recreating the link between past and present. They share a bathroom enhanced by its cement tiles, vestiges of the origin of the house.
On the garden level, a TV area, a reading corner and a music room which can become a 5th bedroom, are entirely facing the different outdoor spaces. Outside, out of sight, its heated swimming pool is separated from the terrace area by its glass hedge. Then, a summer kitchen with its protected dining area takes place. A cellar, a laundry room, a bicycle room, and the possibility of parking two or three vehicles complete this family and urban property.
