The result of a nearly twenty-year renovation, architect Françoise Bousquet meticulously restored the building, paying particular attention to bio-sourced materials and highlighting the intrinsic qualities of the site. Redesigned for contemporary living, the house features an inverted floor plan, keeping the bedrooms on the ground floor and opening up the garden level to accommodate a spacious living area with direct access to the outdoors. Throughout the house, the use of materials is palpable: lime plaster, solid wood, and stone contrast with powder-coated metal, creating a soothing and welcoming atmosphere. Upon entering, the eye is drawn to the verdant garden before turning to the right to an interior garden bathed in zenithal light. This garden showcases the contemporary, suspended staircase with its clean lines, creating a unique experience between the two floors. At the foot of the stairs, the living room, flooded with warm light, is anchored by a stone floor laid in an opus incertum pattern, which extends onto the outdoor terrace through large windows of exotic wood. Organized into several distinct yet fluid spaces, it includes an intimate sitting room furnished as a library, nestled on one side of the staircase. On the other side, the dining area and a second sitting room flow seamlessly into the living room, leading to the solid oak kitchen, defined by a long central island and topped with floating shelves that echo the staircase. A pantry, a laundry room, and a wine cellar complete the more discreet spaces on this level. The upstairs sleeping area is arranged around a central hallway, ensuring a clear flow. It accommodates four bedrooms, with the possibility of creating a fifth. The bedrooms share a bathroom with custom-made furniture, a shower, and a view of the garden, as well as a second, more private shower room. The bucolic, country-style garden includes a vegetable patch, fruit trees, aromatic plants, and various other trees. A small brick-paved path leads to a 26 sq m outbuilding, nestled in the shade of a mimosa tree, awaiting conversion. Two parking spaces complete this exceptional property.
